What to Wear: Tropical Prints

One of my favourite looks from the catwalk this season are the tropical prints; in particular those from Dolce & Gabanna and Stella McCartney. Topshop has recreated the tropics-trend exceptionally well & whilst its only May, I have to admit to both a pair of printed cropped trousers & a skirt to pair with tanned thighs & a Club Topicana attitude...
Pretty. Pretty. Pretty. I have the skirt (which is sadly no longer available) in the same print as these Topshop shorts (£35). The combination of colours in the print makes it incredibly easy to pair with similarly coloured items everyone already has in their wardrobes. This J Crew cashmere jumper (£200) complements the coral tones. Add Zara nude wedges (£59.99) & Diane Von Furstenberg clutch (£320) to give a modern classic finish to the look.

Exibit B. Mixing print. Easier than you thought, yes? While the main focus is undoubtably the amazing Stella McCartney Hawaiian print bag (£345) whilst the striped River Island Midi Skirt (£29) adds a modern edge to the look. Tie in the hues of the bag with a Coral tee, this one is from Reiss (£49), and a pair of nude cork sandals (the summer shoe of the season - keep your eyes peeled) you're already there, without looking like you've even thought about it. I challenge you to find a better summer outfit. So there.
As far as print & I go - we don't do things by halves. The prettier the print, the more I want it to be noticed! This Altuzarra (£910) dress black parka with matching lining (£2,315) complement eachother no end whilst the black tones down the intensity of the eye popping print, turning a look straight from the catwalk into your daywear. The Dolce & Gabanna boots (£425) give the outfit a high fashion finish & the simple butter-yellow butter-soft 3.1 Philip Lim oversized clutch (£415) is the chicest of daytime clutches. The perfect Saturday shopping trip outfit.
