The Rachelle Edit: The New Essentials | Sexy Knits

Knitwear has long been a cold-weather-essential in all of our wardrobes; but this season its been given a sexy lift - thin sheer wool, sequin details, flattering stripes and bejewelled accents make the traditional jumper a little more sexy.

Besides pairing simply with your underwear to lounge around the house (or garden in this editorial with the stunning Kendra Spears..), I love teaming statement knitwear with your favourite comfy 'boyfriend' jeans and nude heels, a hip-length sweater over a mini-dress in a similar hue is entirely chic, or throwing a cosy cashmere knit over one of Dolce & Gabannas silk baroque printed silk trousers or skirts makes the perfect winter day-to-night look.

The Rachelle Lust List: 30th October | Halloween Edition

I'll use any excuse for a celebration, so why shouldn't Halloween be one, too? A party, excuse to dress up and eat too many 'spooky' sweets. Its not all plastic masks and pumpkin carving, little touches can make for a glamorous evening! 1. Any occasion that allows me to (sort of) justify buying an Alexander McQueen bracelet (£160) is a good occasion in my book. 2. If you follow me on Twitter, you'll not only have read my hungover stories, but seen me twit-pic a dozen Halloween style Krispy Kremes on Sunday evening. Just what the doctor ordered to lift the hangover-haze.. 3. There's a Shu Uemura lash for any occasion, and while I'm not keen on bats dripping from my lashes, these cute outer-corner lashes (£15) have just the right amount of sparkle to create the perfect cat-eye. 4. Alexander McQueens skull clutch receives its most dramatic makeover yet, in shaggy Mongolian fur. The accessory of all chic Halloween outfit accessories. 5. Straying mildly off-topic here, the new Miss Selfridge Project (#3) launched last week. I always love these collections, alongside biker jackets and dresses with leather galore, this black jumper (£50) is exactly the black jumper I wanted for this season. 6. Bobbi Brown have released the ultimate in smokey-eye palettes, I love the texture of the brands eyeshadows - this pretty little lot will smoke you from scary Halloween looks to festive parties. 7. When better for a vampy dark lip than Halloween? Tom Ford wins this category hands down with the infamous Black Orchid lipstick (£36). 8. Fortnum & Mason are the Charbonnel et Walker of luxury sweets, I found myself buying these Dracular's Dentures for myself... 9. A candle too pretty to burn, I never thought I'd hear myself make that statement, but this D.L & Co candle will look stunning on your mantle all year round. And its not cheap to replace at £80! 10. More irresistible festive treats are available from Williams-Sonoma, sour bats in adorable cork-topped bottles are just one of the many sugary beauties available. 11. I find skull jewellery a really easy way to add an edge to my look on a daily basis, and I adore Nicole Richie's range of earrings at House of Harlow, so it was a certain that I'd fall for these Triple Skull Stud Earrings (£34). At The Office: Pretty Pastels

There is little more exciting announcement than watching heavy winter tweeds, wool and cashmere layers in the office fall away to be replaced with lighter, floaty fabrics in sheer tulle, chiffon, cotton and lace in the prettiest of pastel shades. 

I love wearing colour in daily life, from bold neons to pretty pastels - although I do admit that pastels make for the safest and simplest option when considering office attire. How to work it into your wardrobe this summer? Take inspiration from the runway and wear pastel hues from head to toe, or break up the colour with whites and creams.

New Look Jeans £16 - You can barely buy a round of drinks for £16 these days, this pastel pair of jeans are a quick & cheap way to tap into one of summers biggest trends.

Designed by Miss Selfridge Blue Shift Dress £49.99 & Pink Chiffon with Leather Bodice £90 - I adored the first Designed by Miss Selfridge collection, I dont feel the second is quite on par but these two dresses really stand out for me. The fabric quality, finishings & detail in the print is true designer standard, but for a fraction of the price. I need these dresses.

Zara Yellow Sandals £49.99 - The ideal summer shoe! I love adding bright shoes to a basic outfit to brighten the look yet still looking completley effortless.

Marks & Spencer Printed Dress £49.99 - Yes, I was shocked too. A dress like this, from Marksies? They tend to create several killer pieces each season, in my opinion this is as good as it gets. Looks so much more than a mere fifty quid..

Zara Clutch Bag with Chain Bracelet £59.99 - A great alternative to a plain evening clutch.

Missguided Blue Pleated Dress £22.99 - As pretty as pastels get!

Topshop Beaded Dip Dye Shorts £60 - Gorgeous! I have a raspberry blazer that was made for these shorts, the perfect summer occasion outfit.

Zara Floral Printed Trousers £39.99 - Even though everyone & their aged aunt are talking about these trousers, I still want them. They're talking with good reason - the print is devine & will go with just about everything I own!

I love the pastel trend as much as the next lady, however its lovely to see a variety of colours in clothing stores that arent just sugary-sweet-sorbets! I've selected my favourite eight garments new in stores this week available to buy, and wear, now.

Charlotte Olympia Love Dolly Twill & Calf Hair Pumps £620 Available at Net a Porter - I'm not a lover of white or cream shoes, more of a nude girl, yet I have at least six dresses I can name in my wardrobe that NEED these shoes.

Topshop Yellow Scuba Dress £46 - More neon in the flesh than pastel, the racer back shape is incredibly flattering.

Miss Selfridge Aztec Embellished Cut Out Dress £80 - Bargain of the week! Beautiful cut, pattern, colour.. What isnt to love? Cant see this one hanging around long, act fast!

Vera Wang Stretch Chiffon Maxi £1300 - Splurge of the week! Intricate print, a peplum skirt and terribly sexy front slit, if you have anywhere special to be this week, this is the dress to be there in.

Topshop Cream Box Fringe Bag £30 - I'm always on the hunt for an evening alternative to a clutch, this fits the bill perfectly, the fringes add the extra 'wow'!

Topshop Cream Biker Jacket £80 - I love the draped, collar-less front, ideal colour to lighten up transeasonal items.

Zara Floral Printed Skinny Jeans £29.99 - An pretty exact replica of those D&G beauties, just £300 lighter! Love!
