Backstage Beauty: Valentino SS12

The SS12 Valentino show was a collection of dresses boasting hand-painted floral prints, each more one more gorgeous than the previous, so a charming beatuty look was essential. Cue makeup pro, Pat McGrath who focuses on a simple and pretty soft palette of pink cheeks and light grey lids.

The clubbing capital of the world - Ibiza. Throughout the month of May arrives the opening nights of the islands biggest & best superclubs - this weekend welcomed Space back onto the international party circut. At The Shops: Chanel Ephemeral Boutique

In April 2012, Chanel opened the doors of the Ephemeral Boutique located at La Mistralée Hotel, a 19th century manor house just a few minutes from The Fox and the Old Port of Saint-Tropez. This is the second time Chanel have set up the seasonal boutique here, open throughout the summer from April to October.

Happy Weekend: Saturday Brunch

My favourite start to the weekend is without doubt, Saturday brunch. Croissants, home-made granola & yogurt, waffles & pancakes with plenty of hot coffee & freshly squeezed juice tends to start the weekend off on a perfectly (the champagne is optional). One day - my breakfast table will exactly resemble the beautiful marble affair above...

Inside Her Handbag: Alison Elwin

Alison Elwin is an award winning fashion editor & celebrity stylist who has worked her magic on many famous faces over the years. Her classic, timeless approach to both fashion & beauty is to keep it simple & elegant.

Polaroid Camera - "I couldn't live without this camera. Yes, my bag is much heavier for want of lumbering it around with me but I love documenting things the old fashioned way. I adore the way the film & colour develop - its totall unique.
Dainty Doll Wonderbalm (£20.50) Available at Boots - "This is always in my bag. I use it when my skin feels dry or chapped pretty much anywhere on my body, lips, hands, even feet. A little on my cheeks gives me a radiant glow. It’s replaced my eight hour cream, and if it can do that it has to be good."

What to Wear: Tropical Prints

One of my favourite looks from the catwalk this season are the tropical prints; in particular those from Dolce & Gabanna and Stella McCartney. Topshop has recreated the tropics-trend exceptionally well & whilst its only May, I have to admit to both a pair of printed cropped trousers & a skirt to pair with tanned thighs & a Club Topicana attitude...
Pretty. Pretty. Pretty. I have the skirt (which is sadly no longer available) in the same print as these Topshop shorts (£35). The combination of colours in the print makes it incredibly easy to pair with similarly coloured items everyone already has in their wardrobes. This J Crew cashmere jumper (£200) complements the coral tones. Add Zara nude wedges (£59.99) & Diane Von Furstenberg clutch (£320) to give a modern classic finish to the look.

Places to Stay: Hotel Missoni, Edinburgh

In 2009, the first Missoni Hotel opened its doors on Edinburghs Royal Mile. Injecting some well received Milanese glamour among the grey streets of the Scottish city, this glamorous addition to the local hotel scene has gained a massive seal of approval by hosting a string of celebrities from Lady GaGa to The Kings of Leon.

Five Favourites: Jubilee Beauty Buys

I have been struck, once again, by royal fever. I've admitted before that I've fallen in love with the modern royals and in the run up to the Queens diamond jubilee I'm feeling rather patriotic! Being beauty obsessed, the first British themed merchandise to creep onto my radar is the; Union Jack, London Bus, Crown Jewels & Famous Landmark emblazoned limited edition beauty products.
Okay - I've tried a million and two better lipbalms than the original Chapstick (introduced into my beauty regime circa 1993...) but the packaging of this special edition is too cute to reisit. Especially for a moderate £1.22!
Cath Kidston Royal Patch Washbag £28.00 - I've a few Cath Kidston wash bags, in beautiful floral prints, convenient hardwearing fabrics & clever pockets they're ideal for short trips.
The highly acclaimed Lancome Genefique is to be released in a limited edition bottle exclusive to Selfridges from the 31st May, £95.
I probably swap my handwash/handcream combo more often than I change my nickers. There are so many lovely products available in equally lovely packaging available to be showcased at my sinks, I find it hard to commit to one for too long! Over the Jubilee period I'll definetley be trying out the limited edition Neal's Yard Remedied Garden Mint & Bergamont handcare.
I'm still a Steamcream virgin, but now even more enticed to try by this cute red London Bus emblazoned tin! If you've tried it let me know your thoughts for a dry skinned/occasionally oily t-zoned lady, pretty please!

Are you a sucker for pretty Limited Edition products too?

At Home With: Tory Burch's Southampton Home

New York based fashion designer Tory Burch has built up a multimillion dollar business in a relativley short space of time based mainly... on herself? Raised from a fashion background with a mother who favoured Parisian chic and a father who designed his own suits & hermes scarves Tory feels fashion and style are in her blood. She has transformed a Gatsby-era Southampton Manor into a convival enviromnemt for family living.
Following a flood, she was planning to drastically remodel her nearby home, a light-filled but architecturally undistinguished summer place on the water’s edge. But when a friend took her to see this majestic home, she immediatley fell in love with the similarity to the Anglophile houses on Philadelphia’s Main Line, where she had grown up among her parents collections of all things antique and intriguing.

Lately: Via Instagram | My Birthday

I was lucky enough to have the most fabulous birthday weekend! Alongside my favourite perfume, caramel cupcakes, 'the worlds best "Chase" vodka', and a handful of make up products I'd my eye on for a while I was completley spoilt with a new laptop and a Mulberry Daria purse!
My Mum made me a chocolate & cream cake (which tastes alot better than the instagram picture makes it look!), my friend made me a four layer raspberry sponge cake alongside those ten cupcakes & chocolates - I'm sure to be piling on the pounds as I work my way through that lot! For the party the boy & I made Strawberry Mojotos and good 'ol cosmopolitans for the arrival of our guests in unfortunatley rather garish green jugs as some unbeknown monster (ahem, my Aunt) borrowed the decent glassware...
I had an amazing weekend & feel truly blessed with all of my friends & family, thank you to everyone for th birthday wishes.

Five Favourites: Tom Ford Beauty SS12

Tom Ford certainly knows how to make women look beautiful. Without even mentioning his expertly cut dresses in amazing fabrics, his beauty line has brought an entire new dimension to the high end of the beauty counters. SS12 brings the first seasonal beauty collection, and in the designers characteristic style - its like nothing else out this season.

Happy Weekend: Happy Birthday to Me

"Happy Birthday to Me, Happy Birthday to Me..." The day has finally arrived & I've been one million percent spoiled by my amazing friends, family and of course - the boy.
I'm off to drink too much champagne, shop til I quite literally drop & get dressed up for a night on the razz, a perfect start to what will hopefully be a perfect new decade.. I'm now officially a twenty-something, eeek!
Have a beautiful weekend whatever you have planned,

The Rachelle Edit: Marlies Dekkers

Haven't heard of Dutch underwear designer Marlies Dekkers? You should have. Her bold, directional yet incredibly sexy and flattering designs have caught the attention of celebs and fashionistas alike - with a-listers from Victoria Beckham to Lady GaGa to Cheryl Cole seen sporting the styles.
The peekaboo cuts, directional details and intricate design seem almost too pretty to hide underneath clothes. Make like Victoria Beckham and pair the 'Dame de la Paris' bra with a high waisted pencil skirt and jacket over? Or try the 'Symphony of Lights' longline bralet with a floaty skirt?

At The Office: Office Envy | Aerin Lauder

Last Spring, Aerin Lauder announced the creation of her new home furnishing and fashion line, AERIN. Junior Lauder, who is currently the creative executive and taste maker at her grandparents business hopes to bring the family flair for colourful designs by the means of tableware, fabric, housewares, and jewellery. Much of which will be inspired by pieces owned and collected by Aerin's grandmother, Estée Lauder.  Though the collection is not set to launch until this Autumn, if they are inspired by the Aerin headquaters – its bound to be something to get very excited about!

A Guide To: Party Planning

As I may have once (ahem) previously mentioned, my birthday falls on the 19th May. Just three days away, planning and preparation is now well under way for the evening soiree. Party planning can be exhausting and frustrating yet done properly, you're sure to have a night to remember on your hands.

What to Wear: Sheer Delights

Although it has been making an appearance for seasons now, the catwalks have never been as dominated by sheer pieces as at the SS12 shows. One part provocative, one part ultra sophisticated - I adore sheer garments.
I find one of the easiest ways to tap into the sheer look, is with semi-sheer top. This pussy-bowed beauty from French Connection (£57) is ideal. I love to toughen up a soft, pretty look (sheer AND bows?!) with an edgy look - any skinny leather or leather effect trousers contrast so well against the white chiffon, I love these Helmut Lang rinsed leather skinny trousers (£400). The shoes, the shoes, the shoes. Oscar De La Renta Marlene Leather Pumps (£615) don't come cheap, but from the pointed toes to the monochome colouring, are perfect for this look. I'm fortunate enough to have my very own Mulberry Taylor Satchel and one of my favourite ways to wear it is with shiny leather, the brushed leather contrasts so beautifully.
