{beauty icon : elizabeth taylor}

There was absoloutley nothing subtle about Elizabeth Taylor's beauty; ample cleavage, deep tan, huge violet eyes - and her fashion sense was just a bold.
The 1940s and 1950s were undoubtedly her heyday, many of Elizabeth's favourite outfits are still celebrated and reinvented today; plunging necklines, bejewelled dressed, clinched waists, beautiful fur jackets and of course - diamonds galore.

Beauty Icon: Blake Lively

Blake Lively, is bloody gorgeous. Born with quite clearly perfect genes, she shared some of her beauty secrets behind the scenes for her new million dollar campaign for the newest fragrance from fashion house Gucci - Premiere.
What's your go-to beauty or hair look for events? "It depends. I was at a premiere in Los Angeles recently in a Zuhair Murad gown, and I could have gone two ways - a smoky eye and lighter lip with a very slicked-back, straight, long ponytail, or a Rita Hayworth look with the red, longer nails and little cat eyes. So I went for the latter because that to me was a fun, special moment. But the next day at the premiere in New York I had this beautiful Gucci mellow yellow gown, and with that I thought you could go Grecian or A Midsummer Night's Dream. So, to make it different from the night before, I thought: 'I want a high pony or I want a braid'. And I had a necklace that I was considering wearing, so I thought: 'let's wrap it around the braid because it will make it more interesting." So you decide upon the looks yourself? "I'm always designing what the hair and make-up will look like and I style myself, including the shoes, jewellery, accessories - all of it. But then I'm lucky to be in the hands of some of the most talented people who will say: 'so that's your idea, now let me actualise it in a way that's more beautiful'. Maybe it's that old classic Hollywood look, maybe it's messy Kate Moss hair or a slicked-back J-Lo ponytail. So there's no go-to, it's 'who do you want to be tonight?"

Beauty Icon: Audrey Hepburn

I feel almost a little cliché writing this post, as it has become almost clichéd to love Audrey Hepburn, yet it's almost impossible not to. One of the biggest icons in film history, she's still often cited as one of the world's most beautiful women — even though she didn't always view herself that way. She disliked her crooked teeth, large feet, and flat chest — "I never thought I'd land in pictures with a face like mine," she once said — but those so-called flaws made her even more likeable.

Beauty Icon: Brigitte Bardot

Model, actress, singer - French fatale Brigitte Bardot has led an amazing life. Starring in over fifty films, popularising the bikini, a romance with Serge Gainsbourgh, a millionaire playboy husband and a bedroom scene with Hermes icon Jane Birkin, in her heyday, Bardot was the only one to watch.
Breathtakingly beautiful and explicitly sensual, her beauty is still iconic. With her signature cat eye, trademark tousled blonde locks, a girly grin and womanly curves, in the 1950's she was equalled only by Marilyn Monroe as an international bombshell.
The easiest way to achieve a Bardot flick is with Bobbi Browns Gel Liner in Black Ink on their Ultra Fine Eyeliner Brush which has two sides, allowing you to do both thick and thin lines. Build up your liner in stages and clean up with a cotton bud dipped in eye makeup remover. Look straight ahead in the mirror when getting the angle of your flick in the correct place - it should give your eyes a subtle lift, crucial for getting Bardot's kittenish, sexy appeal.
