{currently reading...}

Spending my Sunday morning eating chocolate croissants and drinking umpteen cups of my favourite coffee, watching snow fall through the window (will it ever stop?) while getting a late-month magazine fix, its always a hard time in the week before the new glossies are released and I'm all up-to-date, from the stylish online Lonny magazine.
Now wondering how to persuade the boy that thick monochrome stripes on wood panelling are exactly what the bathroom needs.. Have a lovely Sunday, rachelle xo.

Fashion Inspiration: The Lovely Lana

I am one of many of the thousands of people enraptured by the throaty, seductive voice of Lana Del Rey. Since falling for her first single, Video Games, I've become a huge fan of her album and developed a massive girl crush on the lady herself.
Channeling a somewhat '50s pin-up with bouncy, flowing locks and that feline-flick, Lana is undeniably as gorgeous to look at as she is to listen to. I found some stunning editorial shots from two recent cover shoots shes done for Vogue Australia and Vogue Italia. Enjoy!

My Happy List { № 3 } : A Thick Stack of Magazines

Whenever I get the afternoon, evening, or even an early hour on weekend mornings, I always reach for a huge pile of thick, glossy fashion and glamour-filled magazines. Not only are they inspiring for both my wardrobe & blog, I completely lose myself in the shiny pages pouring over new season pieces and interesting articles. Must-reads; Vogue, ELLE, Harpers Baazar, W, Muse, Nylon, Love and anything else I stumble upon.. I've tried getting a weekly fix from the likes of Grazia and Look but always feel cheated and unsated... What are your favourite magazines? rachel xo

Fashion Inspiration: Naked in the Name of Style

From designers to models, theres no end to the style stars who have bared all in the name of fashion. Yves Saint Laurent appeared in the campaign images for his YSL Pour Homme fragrance in 1971 and billboards of a naked Sophie Dahl for YSL's Opium were banned in 2000. Kate Moss, Natalia Vodianova and Robbie Williams have all appeared naked on the cover of Vogue while, in February 2010, the third issue ofLove was issued with eight different covers of nude models - including Lara Stone, Kate Moss and Amber Valletta.

Lust List - 10th September 2012

1. After an unfortunate mishap with Scandinavian fashion site, Nelly, a half-out-of-stock-bikini I was finally notified of a week post-order, a last minute Topshop dash led me to this retro style high waisted bikini (£32). The waffle-textured pants finish at just the right point on the waist to give me a figure rivaling that of Audrey Hepburn and they roll down comfortably to allow optimim tanning! 2. How stunning are both covers of the UK Harper's Bazaar this month? Would it be wrong to buy both?... 3. I'm on the hunt in a big way for the perfect leather legging for winter. As much as I love these Helmut Lang troos, I'm sort of hoping to find a better prices version than the hefty £530 pricetag that comes with. If you know of any high street alternatives, please do point me in the right direction! 4. Everyones favourite street style blogger, Scott Schuman of The Sartorialist has launches his second book, 'Closer', celebrates the diversity of subjects that has made his photography so unique. Following his lens from the streets of New York to Rio de Janeiro, London, Paris and beyond, this book documents the intriguing intricacies of how we dress, creating a "rich tapestry of global style" in the process. Buy it for £20 at Net a Porter. 5. In case I havent mentioned it enough times, I'm off to Phuket tomorrow! This NARS bronzing body glow (£44) is essential to enhance my soon-to-have Asian tan. 6. How Prada are these Topshop 'Shackles' heels? Yours for a mere £68, they hit stores on Friday and are instantly selling out - get them before they go! 7. Another week, another Tom Ford beauty purchase. This time it was the high gloss Ultra Shine Lip Gloss in Naivete, one slick (and a hefty £32 price tag) to dark yet wearable, super glamorous lips. 8. One of my all time favourite eyeshadows, Satin Taupe (£12), by MAC. If you havent got it, you need it. Beyond versatile. 9. I know cheap shoes are always a killer, but I cant stop contemplating this 'Gwinea' studded platform from the site Missguided. Anyone know what the shoe quality is like? For £32.99, they've got to be worth trying? 10. Ten minutes to facial-fresh skin at home, I swear by this Estee Lauder Idealist Dual Action Skin Refinisher (£36), as soon as I hit the hotel room in Thailand this will be generously applied to save my long-haul-haggered skin. rachel xo

Fashion Inspiration: First Look | Inside the new French Vogue

Where French Vogue goes, everyone follows. The glossy's September issue (featuring separate covers of Kate Moss, Lara Stone, and Daria Werbowy in the same Dolce & Gabbana dress) hits newsstands in Paris earlier this month and inside are Emmanuelle Alt's inaugural design tweaks since becoming editor-in-chief last year.
