Why wear one lovely piece, when five lovely pieces look even lovelier? Why stick to one luxe fabric when a wealth of lavish layers looks so spectacular? Seemed to be the thinking pattern this season. Welcome to the new Rachelle feature, The Trend Report; a summary of the upcoming seasons biggest trends, where to look for inspiration, and of course - how to incorporate them into your own wardrobe.
Pairing skirts with trousers is key to the new layered look - seen at Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs and Prada - with the latter predominantly slim and cropped.
As always, Topshop has flown ahead in the high-street version stakes, and for matchy-matchy pieces to layer, Zara is looking to be a winner. My personal favourite layering looks are from primarily Prada, (obsessedw the skirts over trousers and the long jackets), closely followed by the more subtle Vera Wang and Missoni for the proper winter gear, give me those knits and furs in December, thanks.
