The Rachelle Edit: My Current Skincare Routine

I'm one of those skincare geeks. The annoying ones who spend ages researching what to buy, how it works and what ingredients will work with what I know about my skin. Its timely, often expensive - but worth it. I've never been blessed with a flawless, baby face - since I was about eleven. Teenage spots, dryness, flakiness, spot-scars, redness, and an oily t-zone are just some of the horrors I've encountered over the years.
As a beauty blogger, I've tried millions of skincare products claiming to cause miracles; some work, some don't. I've created a collection of the truly miraculous skincare products that really do what they claim on the tin which I rely on a daily basis..
Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish £14.25 | Each night, I take my makeup off with a pump of the famous cleaner, leave a moment and polish off with the cloth. I always double cleanse with a half pump of this massaged onto the face and rinsed off, I've used this stuff for years and never looked back. My skin is thoroughly cleaned, soft and gently exfoliated. Kiehl's Extremely Gentle Eye Makeup Remover £16 | I don't always use this, just whatever I find next in rotation, but I always prefer a swipe of this on cotton wool as opposed to removing eye makeup with a cleanser, never a pleasant experience I find! Garnier do an excellent one for about £3! Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair from £44 | This has become another staple in keeping my skin, clear, supple and fresh. It works wonders on all skin types while you sleep, I always apply this at night straight after cleansing. I'm only twenty and not worrying about ageing just yet, but I do love the sun and I'm hoping this will act as 'insurance' against that as promised within time...
Panoxyl Aquagel | Not the most glamorous product, this over-the-counter acne gel is available from pharmacies for about £3, and truly is the best spot-fighter I've ever come across. Apply a thin layer where you normally get spots and wait to sink in before moisturising and if you do get any breakouts, plenty of this overnight will put them to rest! Body Shop Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion £9 | Another un-glamorous one, but it does the trick. My skin gets oily when it sleeps, this helps me wake up matte, but well moisturised - great prep for my daily moisturiser which is richer and helps my foundation 'melt' into my skin. Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Recovery Complex £37 | This eye cream is a dream for dry, tired papery skin; I've described it as 'caviar for eyes' before, its so luxurious and bloody good! Cetaphil Moisturising Cream £9.40 | I stumbled across this a few months ago, this is another cheap product thats become an essential. With dry skin  prone to breakouts, I need to find a balance of a good level of long-lasting moisture, and a simple formula that will help keep skin clear. This is fragrance free, thick, creamy yet sinks in well and keeps my skin plump and supple all day. And, its less than a tenner for 100ml. Estée Lauder Idealist Dual Action Refinishing Treatment £36 | I use this religiously twice a week to give my skin a little extra exfoliation and super-deep clean, if I've any lingering blemishes this clears them up overnight and leaves my skin glowing. Estee Lauder Hydra Complete Multi Level Moisture Gel Mask £29 | I tend to use this just when my skin feels especially dry or dehydrated (pretty much on hangover days..), it feels so luxurious and cooling to apply and leaves my skin plum and perfectly hydrated. Burt's Bee's Beeswax Lip Balm Tube £3.69 | One or two slicks of this wonder of the world lip balm is all I ever need to keep my lips smooth and chap-free. The minty tingle is so refreshing, I've even had the boy addicted for years! rachelle xo
